Bakewell, an ancient market town in the Derbyshire Dales, is in the Peak District National Park Conservation Area.

Bakewell is just two and a half miles from Chatsworth House, one of the great stately homes of England; the ancestral seat of the Dukes of Devonshire, set in 105 acres of landscaped gardens.

Haddon Hall, an unspoilt medieval and Tudor manor house is just a mile and three-quarters from Bakewell.

Red House Stables and Carriage Museum, a working carriage museum which offers local sightseeing tours, is less than five miles away.
